Well, as I mentioned earlier, I am going to do a catch up post on Rachel! This will be an overview of the last 5 months, so it definitely won't be conclusive ;). Also, I know I shared some of these pictures in an earlier post, but oh well!
Rachel was born in September. She was 6 lbs 7 oz and 19 1/2 in. long! She was so tiny to us! We were overjoyed to have her join our family! We love her to pieces!
She came out with beautiful red hair!
Proud Daddy :)
She was so tiny!
We called her legs bean poles because they were so skinny ;)
With grandma
Both grandmas! They were so excited for her arrival!
I realized I took so many pictures, so I had to limit the ones I put on here a lot! Cute babies are just too hard to resist :)
The family.
My sister Joni took some newborn pictures. She did such a great job, and there are so many that I love, so I put a bunch on here :).
My little angel :)
Daddy's little princess!
I love her facial expressions on these next couple! She is so funny!
Her birdie mouth! This means she is hungry :) and I think it is just so adorable when she does it!
Sucking on her fingers!
Unfortunately I didn't take official month pictures, so I will have to guesstimate here.
Month One Stats:
She mostly slept and ate a ton! By around one month she had already gained three pound and weighed in around 9 lbs 6 oz! She smiled occasionally, but only in sleep. She was very social and loved to be around people. She didn't mind taking baths, but didn't love getting out because it was too cold!
Sassy face!
A few weeks after being born, she got to meet her great grandma Parmenter who lives in Nebraska! It was fun to see all the relatives!
She loves her pacifier, and I just love this picture because it looks so big on her tiny cute face!
She looks bored here :)
Cute pacifier again :). At first she wasn't very good at keeping it in her mouth, but she's progressed lots since then.
Right after a bath. She must have been hungry because there's the birdie mouth again!
We dressed her up in my blessing dress :)
Sucking her thumb! She found her thumb several times but never stuck with it...probably because we swaddle her when she sleeps and so she can't get to her thumb.
So cute!
This was her Halloween outfit!
Our cute little giraffe :).
Dressing up for church!
I'm not sure if this is around two months or not, but it looks about right so I'll put the stats here :)
Month Two Stats:
She weighed in at 13 lbs 2 oz!! She also was 23 in. long! She grew extremely fast and was in very high percentiles for both weight and height! I guess she is following in the footsteps of her daddy :) (he was a large baby). She has the cutest, roundest, chubby cheeks and they are so fun to kiss!
She was sleeping 8-9 hours at night by 2 months and we loved it!!!! She also loved to nap during the day :). She is a generally very easy-going baby and not too fussy (unless she's tired or has gas). She was starting to smile more frequently and it was so fun to try to get her to smile! She started making some cooing noises too, and it was so fun!
Cute smiles!
Cross-eyed!
Our cute little sunshine baby :).
Aww!! This is her cousin and he loved to talk to her and give her kisses!
This was probably around three months because it was during December time.
Month Three Stats:
Rachel was still growing so fast! She stayed a great sleeper and was great with her naps. She started to smile more and even laughing and giggling some! It was so adorable! Her giggles are my absolute favorite! At first it was harder to get her to giggle, but as she got older it got a lot easier, and now it's so easy!
Not too pleased about being bundled up! ;)
Trying on a cute baby bonnet given to us by someone in our ward. We thought it was cute and funny at the same time! She looks like a pioneer baby!
Cousin time with Grandma!
Daddy also decided to try to help her sit up more. She thought that was funny :). She still isn't great at it and falls way forward, but she is getting better! When sitting on someone's lap she can now sit up for quite a while by herself :)
Also, around three months she was able to play with her rattle (if we put it in her hand) and she liked that! She also, loved to suck on her hands and became very slobbery! She loved to blow bubbles and suck on things :).
Sitting in the bumbo!
This was at Rachel's blessing in December.
Doing pretty well with sitting up!
Rachel in her bouncy toy! She hasn't quite figured it out yet, but yesterday when we put her in it, she bounced around quite a bit! She usually leans far to one side and it looks cute :).
Month Four Stats:
Rachel weighed in at 17 lbs and 14 oz at her 4 month check up! She was also 25 in. long! She was in the 90's percentile for both weight and head circumference :). She is growing so much and so quickly!
Rachel started sleeping longer at night and usually sleeps ten-ish hours. Closer to 5 months we moved her bed time to right after she eats at 8:30 and then she usually sleeps until between 7 and 8. We love it! She also loves to play and she is great at reaching for things and grabbing what she wants. She has an elephant teething toy/stuffed animal that she loves! She almost always wants to play with it and reaches for it when you hold it out to her :). She is also sitting up a lot better and loves to be standing up! She has such strong legs. She also loves to suck on everything! She still slobbers a lot and has gotten into the habit of spitting a ton! I think she likes the sensation on her lips and tongue or something like that because she is constantly spitting!
She is laughing so much more and it is adorable! She is always doing the funniest things and making funny faces. We just have so much fun with her! She laughs and smiles all the time! I love going in to pick her up from her bed because she always has a huge smile for me!
She also had a few episodes of stranger danger, but I think it's getting a bit better fortunately. She really is a social baby :). She has also tried sitting up on her own quite a bit, but her tummy muscles usually give out after a while :).
She loves to talk as well! She is always cooing or yelling ;). She must like to hear herself :).
Playing!
She loves to grab her clothes and pull them up to her face and suck on them :)
We occasionally feed her with a bottle to keep her in the habit for when we go out and she is being babysat, and she likes to try to hold the bottle on her own!
Helping mom with dinner!
I love her smiles!
Snuggling with mommy :).
Aww, I love that smile!
Daddy playing peek-a-boo!
In her bear hoody towel!
Tummy time!
She loves to sit up on the couch!
Rachel with Babalooba! ( that's the name of the elephant ;) named by daddy)
At her 4 month doctor's appointment!
Just relaxing!
With Babalooba again!
Hanging out with Uncle Adam!
She loves her fingers!
She's such a happy baby!
Looking at her first Valentine!
She loved it!
Month Five Stats:
She just turned five months a few days ago! It's crazy how time flies! She has tried a few different things to eat (besides mommy's milk :)). She seems to like solid food so far! She has rolled over once, but doesn't seem too inclined to do it again. She is getting some teeth in on her bottom gums! We can feel the hard bumps, so it won't be too long before they show up! He hair is getting longer on the top and it's still a beautiful red color! She is quicker to smile and giggle than ever before! She is so happy and sometimes will just start giggling like crazy for no apparent reason. It's hilarious! She also loves to play peek-a-boo! She will almost always give a huge grin or a giggle when we play :).
We love Rachel so much! She brings so much joy into our lives! She is such a blessing!
